Iconic Street Development of Modhera Road

Mahesana Municipal Corporation (MMC), the urban local body of Mahesana city, has initiated redevelopment of several key streets to enhance urban experience and connectivity. Among these, Modhera Road has been identified, serving as a vital link between Mahesana city and the historic town of Modhera, home to the renowned Sun Temple. Spanning 5.5 kilometers, the proposed transformation of this corridor aims to create a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable public realm through integrated streetscape and mobility interventions.
Key features of the project include universal access, safe and compact intersections, and context-driven urban design. The scope of work encompasses preparation of detailed road layouts, pavement design, creation of footpaths with street furniture, landscaping, efficient traffic and parking management, installation of modern street lighting and utilities and dedicated vending spaces for the existing street vendors.
It is envisaged that this project will enhance safety and accessibility of streets in the city.
