The Urban Lab provides professional services in place making, traffic and transport planning, urban planning, policy, urban management and project management. It was formed in 2015 by a team of planners and urban designers with a vision to contribute towards 'Creating Liveable Cities'. The Urban Lab was conceived as a laboratory to explore, innovate and nurture ideas which lead to simple and workable solutions for improving mobility of the people.

The Urban Lab's work is rooted in its core values of integrity, innovation and inspiration. It believes that all cities in the world must encompass these core values. Integrity when various components of the city integrate and work with each other, innovation when new solutions are sought for and delivered to overcome traditional issues and inspiration when smarter solutions bring about a paradigm shift in transforming our cities.

The Urban Lab offers complete solutions including design, planning and management. The consultancy services range from detail design, estimation to project supervision. The Urban Lab is working on projects related to street design, parking policy, road network planning, intersection design, project management and public space design. It brings in the strength of research, advisory, consulting and capacity building.
