Guidelines for Preparation of City Logistics Plan
India
To address the pressing need for standardised practices in city logistics planning and implementation, aligning with the vision of the National Logistics Plan, The Urban Lab in collaboration with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), developed “Guidelines for preparing City Logistics Plan" for cities across India. The aim is to empower city governments across the country to streamline the logistics planning and management process across the supply chain of logistics in cities.
Based on the learnings of the existing city logistics plans and a detailed understanding of the processes involved in data collection, processing, and analysis, the guidelines encompasses a detailed scope for the project, including a framework for appointing a nodal agency, creation of terms of reference for consultants, and structuring city-specific guidelines.
Additionally, the guidelines were further refined by engaging with logistics experts and institutional agencies to incorporate diverse stakeholder inputs. This project would contribute to the standardisation and enhancement of logistics practices, enabling cities across India to navigate the complex landscape of urban logistics effectively.
