Lakefront Reconnect Competition

The Lakefront Reconnect Design Competition invites architectural design firms to submit innovative proposals for the revitalization of 10 lakes in the Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA). The scope includes walking and cycling tracks, lake rejuvenation, edge and slope treatment, constructed wetlands, STPs, themed gardens, recreational and cultural amenities like amphitheatres, play areas, bird watching decks, boating, and universally accessible design. Programming will be tailored to each lake’s context, promoting active/ passive use, biodiversity, and community engagement.
