Anupam Hospital Junction Redesign
Surat
The Anupam Hospital junction, located on Vesu Canal Road in Surat, is a high-traffic intersection facing persistent issues such as congestion, disorganized vehicular movement, and pedestrian safety concerns. Its proximity to healthcare facilities and residential areas increases the complexity of daily traffic, particularly during peak hours. To address these challenges with a structured, design-based solution, Varni Architects, Surat, invited The Urban Lab to provide technical expertise for the intersection's redesign.
The Urban Lab was appointed to provide complete consultancy services, from validating survey data to preparing Good for Construction (GFC) drawings. Through a structured, data-driven approach, TUL is working to improve intersection geometry, optimize signal phasing, and upgrade pedestrian infrastructure. The scope includes traffic flow analysis, safety assessments, stakeholder engagement, and pilot execution support, culminating in actionable technical deliverables for effective implementation.
The project is expected to significantly improve road safety, reduce delays, and enhance multimodal access at a crucial intersection in Surat’s urban network. By combining technical precision with context-sensitive planning, the intervention will serve as a replicable model for future junction upgrades across the city.
