Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) proposed development of a Greenfield Smart City on the outskirts of the city. The area of the site is 3 sq.km. As part of the smart city development, RMC intends to prepare a transport plan for Rajkot Smart City. The scope of work includes preparation of the master plan, detailed project report, and project management.

The Urban Lab was appointed to prepare the transport plan for Rajkot Smart City. Their approach is to promote growth and development by designing transit ready corridors and a street network which promotes the ideas of ‘commute for all’. The plan proposes a transit corridor along with a robust NMT network to promote public transport, cycling, and walking in the smart city.
