The Mobilise Your City (MYC) Program is part of an international initiative supported by the French and the German governments and was launched at the Conference of Parties (COP21) held in Paris in December, 2015. The MYC Program seeks to support governments at both local and national levels to step up their involvement in favour of transformational actions for sustainable urban mobility. The main purpose of this initiative is to go beyond infrastructure development and tackle mobility issues, including policies for inter-modality improvements, infrastructure planning, and service development.

The Urban Lab is supporting Urban Mass Transit Company (UMTC), which is the Project Implementation Unit (PIU), to coordinate with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for implementation of the project. This includes conducting capacity building programs for local stakeholders, identifying specific programs/ plans for Ahmedabad, assisting the PIU and Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in writing ToRs, evaluating tenders, coordinating with appointed consultants, and providing technical support to the AMC.
