Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) are preparing a training manual for Transit Oriented Development (TOD) and Multimodal Integration (MMI). The Urban Lab is working with CRDF, CEPT University to develop the manual for the MMI and conduct training sessions for BMRCL staff.

The Urban Lab is developing a manual for MMI based on principles of efficient circulation, safe access, and wayfinding. The manual looks at the larger area around the interchange facility—known as the interchange zone –and the interchange station itself. The manual uses case studies from good practices in London, Singapore, and Hong Kong to demonstrate through illustrations, the specific planning and design interventions that make them successful. The project also includes a hands-on exercise of designing actual interchange stations in Bengaluru.
