Low Carbon Urban Freight Action Plan for Kochi
Kochi
ICLEI South Asia has undertaken implementation of the EcoLogistics project (2017-2021) involving cities from three countries –Argentina, Colombia, India. The project focuses on enhancing capacities, strategies, and policies to promote low carbon urban freight through local actions. It envisions to assist cities in developing a low carbon action plan for urban freight. The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMU) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI). In India, Kochi is one of the three cities identified for project implementation.
The Urban Lab is appointed to develop the low carbon urban freight action plan for Kochi. The scope of work includes preparing a baseline for the urban freight sector in Kochi, facilitating awareness and acceptance of the action plan amongst the key stakeholders, and developing strategies to implement the priority projects proposed in the action plan.
