Siliguri is selected as one of the three cities under the CapaCITIES program. Siliguri Municipal Corporation and CapaCITIES identified that cities including Siliguri observed an increase in population and vehicle growth that is leading to increase in congestion.

The Urban Lab was appointed to develop a circulation plan to decongest major arterial roads in Siliguri. It involves design of junctions in the core market area and demonstration through identification of pilot projects.
