Capacity Building Support for Urban Design Team of Pune Municipal Corporation

Pune

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) appointed eight urban designers in 2015 to design streets and urban spaces. These urban designers worked with the engineering department to implement high quality streets in Pune. As a step towards scaling-up the performance of the team, PMC appointed CEPT University for capacity development of the team. The Urban Lab is assisting CEPT University to conduct a diagnostic assessment and capacity building program for strengthening the performance of the design team. The diagnostic stage looked at the existing organisational structure for street design projects, individual responsibilities, and inter-departmental coordination and issues. The report suggests measures for elevating the performance of the entire team. The team also assessed the training needs in specific subjects for capacity building.
